Wiesel delivers poignant message to sold out crowd in Rochester

Rochester Hills, Mich.—Aug. 25—Every human being is worthy of our passion, tenderness and love regardless of nationality, religion or color said Elie Wiesel as he brought his lecture on "The Power of Language for Reconciliation" to a close.

Golf fundraiser brings in $30k

The annual Fletcher/Shinsky Golf Classic held at Greystone Golf Course in Romeo, Mich. on Monday, August 4 drew nearly 120 golfers plus several volunteers, staff members and guests.

The event raised a total of $28,000. The college received over $12,000 in sponsorships and just over $4,300 in gift certificates and giveaway items.

New administration leads Rochester College into 2008-2009

In early May, Dr. Rubel Shelly accepted the assignment from the Board of Trustees to lead Rochester College as its president for the 2008-2009 academic school year.  Shelly began his work at the college in 2005 as Visiting Professor of Philosophy and Religion and began his full-time professorship in June 2006. The appointment as president came following the resignation of Dr. Michael Westerfield. Westerfield will remain at the college as a tenured professor of English.
